Learning from a Refrigerator Magnet.

As a small child, the refrigerator door was like the family newspaper. If anyone needed to headline their announcement, it would usually go stuffed between a Christmas card photo and last week's church bulletin.

My grandmother used the refrigerator to brag about grand kids and summer vacations.  You could always tell where she had visited based on the number of  magnets she displayed. My mom, on the other hand, used her refrigerator as a pen caddy to house the vital color coded writing tools for keeping the family on track.

On one of my particular perusal's of a friend's fridge, a specific magnets stuck out at me that I have  never forgotten. It read: "There's nothing like being married to your best friend".

After being married for over four months, I could not agree more. Committing to someone who understands you and loves you for who you are is incredible.

Over the past several months as husband and wife, we've had the chance to practice loving sacrificially and serving in many ways. Afterall, two accountants in the same household means lots of late nights and one-day weekends. Through it all, we've grown even closer as a couple and have found joy in serving one another.

While the road ahead will inevitability have bumps and crossroads, I'm thankful to be hooked to someone ready to tread those paths with me, wherever they take us. ...What a gift from God.
